Our Commitment to Student Privacy

Xogos Audio is designed with student privacy at its core. We comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and work with schools as a "school official" under FERPA regulations.

What is FERPA?

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. It applies to all schools that receive funds from the U.S. Department of Education.

FERPA gives parents and eligible students (those over 18) rights regarding their education records, including the right to access records and control their disclosure.

How We Comply

1. School Official Exception

Schools may designate Xogos Audio as a "school official" with a "legitimate educational interest" in student data. This allows us to access necessary student information to provide our services without requiring individual parental consent.

2. Data Minimization

We only collect the minimum student data necessary to provide our services. We do not require or store sensitive information like grades, disciplinary records, or health information.

3. Direct Control by Schools

School administrators maintain control over student accounts and can manage, export, or delete student data at any time through their admin dashboard.

4. No Third-Party Marketing

We never use student data for marketing purposes or share it with third parties for advertising. Student data is used solely to provide educational services.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect student data, including encryption, access controls, and regular security audits.
